Reflexology involves application of pressure to the feet and hands with specific thumb, finger, and hand techniques without the use of oil or lotion.

Craniosacral therapy (CST) uses gentle touch to palpate the cranium’s synarthrodial joints.

Shiatsu (acupressure) involves manual pressure applied to specific points on the body in an attempt to relieve tension and pain.

Polarity massage balances negative and positive poles on each cell in the body.

Swedish massage rubs muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart; it’s beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, and improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension.

“I look forward to every trip to Cape Cod with a P-Town visit to Mary Ann. She is an intuitive masseuse who always hits the right spots, with the right pressure. She is so strong and has experienced technique. After a long drive in the car, she is just what the doctor ordered to set me right for my vacation. She is also a great source of information on all that is P-Town and surrounding areas. I have gotten many a great referral from her. Wish she was closer to visit more often than the 1x or 2x a year that I make my visit. But, it is a highlight of my vacation for sure!”

I just got back from a wonderful massage by Mary Ann. I was struck right away by the feeling that she really cared. Over the 90 minutes she offered many ideas about body mechanics--how to sleep and sit and drive. She recommended many inexpensive ideas for self-care. And indeed she has wonderful hands! She knows her stuff and found my neediest spots and was particularly amazing with my hands and feet. I've had tons of expert massages over the years and Marianne was right up there among the best.

“Mary Ann's massages are divine and oh so skillful! I've been enjoying them for over 25 years and always look forward to seeing her on our trips to Ptown. In addition to being a skilled massage therapist, knowledgeable about many things, & a great advisor on what's happening Inc town, she's become a treasured friend. She's one of those amazing generous beings who make life brighter and sweeter just for knowing her. Her massages reflect that.”

I've made a point of booking two massages with Mary Ann every time I'm in Provincetown. I have one at the beginning of my vacation and at the very end. Mary Ann really knows the body and has incredibly powerful, healing hands. She's intuitive, insightful and knowledgeable. She's up on the latest therapies and remedies. She's my go to person when I'm sore, have pulled a muscle, have aches, etc. I always feel better, stronger and simply, wonderful at the end of our sessions. Don't miss a massage with her. It's well worth it!

Back in 1978, Mary Ann Powers had back surgery. As part of her rehab, she received massage.

It changed her life.

Mary Ann was so amazed by the results of her own experience that she decided to devote her life to delivering those results to others. She went on to study at the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy where she learned Swedish massage, acupressure, polarity, prenatal massage, reflexology, and medical massage; she later studied craniosacral therapy with John Upledger and myofascial release with John Barnes.

She joined Wonderful Hands Massage in 1988.
